Dicie Victoria Maynard Kirby's Obituary
Dicie Victoria Maynard Kirby, 88, of Piketon, Oh, ran into the loving arms of God and beside Him was my Daddy, Roger Kirby Sr., with outstretched arms saying, "Come on Vic." His favorite words for her. She would have been 89 on the 17th of this month and will celebrate it with Dad, in 1931, born to Luther and Maltie Maynard out in Wayne, WV. Before her husband, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Roger Allen Kirby III. She leaves to forever show her love three daughters, Kathy Snyder, (Mike), of Taylorsville, NC, Rebecca Wilburn, whom she made her home with the last 6 years and Beth Letendre of Huntington, WV. Three sons, Roger Allen Kirby Jr., (Debra) of Waverly, WV, George Kirby, (Brittney) Kirby of Spokane, WA and Keith Kirby, (Donna) of Huntington, WV. Thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren. She had seven brothers and 6 sisters and many many many loved ones, family and friends who will miss her dearly. In 1951 Dad saw Mom from across the Roll-a-Rama floor and they were married two weeks later and were married 55 years before God called him home in 2007, but before he went home he was in the Airforce and him and Mom traveled all over the world. After they returned to the USA Mom was a homemaker in many states traveling with dad so as to provide for his big family. He started as a trucker and when their children had families of their own, momma would jump up in the truck and travel the roads with dad. When retirement came they settled in Huntington, WV on Baltimore street and sat on the front porch watching the birds and squirrels. Momma showed love in all she did and always had one or more of her grandchildren by her side as they all loved going to Granny and Grandpas home. Her table was full anytime there was company. Sorry, but there will be a private memorial at a later date. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
