Donald Shirley Hackworth's Obituary
Donald "Donnie" S. Hackworth, 81, of South Point, OH went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2022. He was born January 6, 1941 to the late Goldie and Clarence Hackworth and had a step-father David "Pap" Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by six brothers: Clarence (Mary), Frank (Betty), Weed, Cecil(Virginia), Charly, Tom(Shirley); two sisters Virginia and Patricia. Donnie is survived by his wife of 58 ½ years Sharon Hartley Hackworth. A beauty of a marriage. On their 44th anniversary he asked Sharon to marry him again since they both met the Lord. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Tonya(Tim) Leighty of South Point, Pete(Teresa) Hackworth of Huntington, Dawn(Glenn) Brown of North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Ashlee(Matt) Burd, Brett, Tyler(Ally), Matthew(Charly) Hackworth, Daniel and Donnie Brown, and Danielle (Corwin) Freeze; seven great grandchildren: Landry, Maci Rae, Kylee, Kenlee, Connor, Braydon and Jayce; several nieces, nephews and friends. A special thanks to his caregiver Lisa Layman, Sumer Wilson, Cheryl, and Kim Bryant. Donnie was a Trustee for Fayette Township for 24 years and owned Hackworth Electric Heating & Cooling for 35 years. Funeral Service will be held 2p.m Wednesday November 16, 2022 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, OH with Pastors Tom and Punkin Jones officiating.
