Donald Eugene Trainer's Obituary
Donald Eugene Trainer, 80, Proctorville, Ohio died Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1937, in Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Monroe and Imogene Trainer; father-in-law Billy Ray Edwards. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Belinda Edwards Trainer; children Angela (Daniel) Konrad, Scott Trainer, Heather (Chris) West, Craig Trainer; Grandchildren Tori and Alec Konrad, Brady Walton, Trevor West; Mother-in-law Helen Edwards; sister-in-law Renee (Anthony) Cole; sister Shirley Adkins and many nieces and nephews. Don retired as managing partner of Trainer, Wright & Paterno. He was past president ACPA International; past member Ohio Valley Association of CPAs; WV Society of CPAs. He was a faithful member of Christ Presbyterian Church and prior Elder of FPC. He graduated from HEHS and Marshall University and served in US Army. He was an avid Marshall and Reds’ fan. He was active in the Masonic Lodge receiving the “Mason of the Year”award in 2009. He served as past master of Blue Lodge Huntington #53; Treasurer Board of Trustees Grand Lodge of WV; past High Priest of Huntington R.A.M.; past Commander Huntington Commandery #9; past Preeminent Sovereign of Order of York Rite Sovereign College of North America; past Puissant Sovereign Red Cross of Constantine; Past Venerable Master Scottish Rite; 33° I.G.H.; Associate member Board of Governors Cincinnati Shriners Hospital; Board of Directors of Huntington Scottish Rite Foundation; Secretary/Treasurer Huntington Masonic Temple Assoc.; KYCH Knight York Cross of Honour; Past Secretary Huntington Lodge #53; Member of El Hasa Shrine; Member of Legion of Honor. Special thanks to the staff at Wyngate in Barboursville for their care, love, and support. Family will receive visitors Saturday, June 2 at 10:00 am at New Hope Methodist Church, Proctorville, OH followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. John C. Minihan officiating.
