Dotty Kay Wellman's Obituary
Dotty Kay Wellman,72, of Proctorville, OH died on February 7, 2022.She was born in Logan, WV on November 16, 1949 to Marvin and Opal Carpenter. She was a 1967 graduate of Logan High School. Dotty was a retired Clinical Drug Research Executive secretary for Quintiles, Durham, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Opal Carpenter, two brothers Marvin Alden Carpenter and Donald Gene Carpenter, niece Donna Louise Carpenter and granddaughter Brooklyn Kay Buchanan. Dotty is survived by her husband, Grover "Pete" Wellman, daughter Jaime Buchanan (Mike), stepdaughter Hannah Ngumire (Robert), stepsons Patrick Wellman (Kim) and Scott Wellman (Tanya), twin sister Dolly May Workman (Larry), one nephew Brandon Hall, and 7 grandchildren Sydney, Makenna, Emily, Alyssa, Lexi, Kalei and Isaiah. Dotty had two very special lifelong friends Kathy Henderson and Maxine Dotson and many other special family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Thursday February 10, 2022 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, OH. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday February 11, 2022 at Victory Freewill Baptist Church, 1682 Mill Creek Road, Pecks Mill, WV 25547 with visitation from 11-12. Pastor Rocky Chafin is officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery Pecks Mill, WV. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
