Douglas Ray Ellis' Obituary
Douglas Ray Ellis, 77, of Milton, WV, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at home. He was born on September 15, 1943 in Chesapeake, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother Estelle Ellis and nephew Tracy Ellis. He was a lifetime member of DAV #117, retired from Mariner Health Care, employee of Lawrence Co. Sheriff Department, served on Chesapeake Police Department as well, former member of VFW Post #6878, and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gambling. He is survived by his two daughters Tonya (Shane) Burdette and Estell (Bruce) Ellis; two sons Paul Adkins and Greg Adkins; three grandchildren Sarah Lockard, Christie (Aaron) Fitzpatrick, and Brittany (Jayanna) Jarrell; four great grandchildren Paige and Kailee Corns and Sidney and Hensley Fitzpatrick; one brother Gary Ellis; one niece Pamela Ellis; good friends Janice and Clara; numerous friends of a Pine Haven; and longtime friend and mother of his girls Janet Daniel. Funeral Service will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Michael D. Chapman officiating. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military rites at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
