Edmond Lee Hornbuckle, III's Obituary
HPGM/PGWP Edmond L Hornbuckle III 33° of Huntington, WV peacefully and surrounded by family, passed away on 30 May at the age of 74 years. The son of the late Rev Edmond Hornbuckle II and Lucille Stephens Hornbuckle.Edmond was born in Chapmanville, WV and following graduation from Logan High School, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for four years. He began his professional career with Appalachian Power retiring after 35 years of dedicated service. A member of First Baptist Church of Huntington where he served as a trustee, he continued in service as the chairman of the Rotary Gardens board as well as a member of the AEPEFCU board. Edmond was on the Honor Guard and served as 1st Commander at the VFW Post 1064 of Huntington and was a volunteer driver at the Hershel "Woody" Williams VA Medical Center. An avid sportsman, he played and coached in numerous leagues touching many lives of the Huntington youth as well as endearing himself to the community at large. He was a Past Master of Alexander Freeman Lodge #2 F&AM, HPGM of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of WV Inc. F&AM, a member of the Tri-State Consistory #168 elevated to 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason AAST PHA SJ, USA, a member of The Royal Arch, Knight Templer Masonary and PGWP of Electra Prince Hall Grand Chapter OES WV, serving five consecutive elected terms.Edmond was predeceased by his brothers Moses, Keith (Anita), and Fred Hornbuckle. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jeannetta W. Hornbuckle; children: Jay Hornbuckle, Marva "Angel" Hornbuckle (Graham), Scott Hornbuckle (Paola) and Stephen Hornbuckle (Lisa); grandchildren: Jordan and Jarrod Smith, Erica, Madeline and Tony Hornbuckle, Caleb Brown, Mary "Shelly" Uhl; siblings: Michael (Leigh Anne), Jacqueline and Jerome Hornbuckle (Quandora) and William Hardy (Earlene); mother in-law: Margaret Wilson; Sisters in-law, Joann Felters, Janice and Alberta Wilson, Joyce, Patricia and Frankie Hornbuckle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.The Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Huntington, WV. with the Reverend Anthony Stradwick officiating and Masonic Rites conducted by Alexander Freeman lodge #2 F&AM, PHA. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
