Elizabeth Jo Boggs' Obituary
Elizabeth Jo Wickline Boggs has left this earthly realm. Her family will tell you she’s in a better place, stress-free and at peace. She passed peacefully in the care of Hospice at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, George R. Boggs. Jo is survived by her three children, Ann Stratton, Kurt Boggs, and Mark Boggs; beautiful grandchildren and several great grandchildren who made her life better with their visits. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Rebecca (Kitchen) Grant and Suzanne (Kitchen) Bigham. She was born in Huntington, WV, June 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Gladys Marie Wickline Kitchen and Raymond Wickline. A love story was begun in 1948 when Jo met George, the handsome popular guy at South Point High School. She always said “I couldn’t believe he picked me” but I think George knew who the lucky one was. Together they had a lot of adventures, went a lot of places, and “had a lot of fun.” She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, with the soul of an adventurer, a curiosity about the world and creativity that made happy memories for so many. Jo’s spirt of adventure led her to become a certified scuba at the age of 50, diving in Florida, the Bahamas, and Hawaii. She obtained her EMT certification and worked for the Lawrence County, Ohio ambulance service for many years. Jo learned to fly a plane, soared in an ultralight, went zip lining, took a slog to England and Ireland and dove with whale sharks at age 73. Her one real regret was never getting to ride in the Goodyear blimp! There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
