Elonzo George "Lonnie" Sawyers' Obituary
Elonzo George “Lonnie” Sawyers, 70, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away Thursday October 9, 2025 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born November 9, 1954 to the late William E. and Grace Sproll Sawyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Paula Sawyers. Lonnie is survived by his son Bill(Tanya) Sawyers; two granddaughters Katelyn and Harper Sawyers; brother Donald Sawyers. Lonnie served for the Proctorville Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church in Chesapeake where he served as a trustee. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday October 14, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, OH with Pastor Gavin Napier officiating. Burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, OH. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday October 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
