Elsie Catherine Clark Whitley's Obituary
Elsie Catherine Clark Whitley, 89, of Proctorville, Ohio known affectionately as "Mom" by her children, grandchildren and close friends passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at home. She was born November 24, 1930 in Lawrence County, Ohio daughter of the late Stanley and Carrie Webb Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Bill Whitley; son Gerald Lee "Jerry" Whitley; and brothers Clifford Clark and Mack Clark. She was a lifelong member of Union United Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching the nursery class thru several generations, singing in the chorus and cooking for the special dinners. Catherine was a faithful servant of God up until she recently could no longer physically attend. She is survived by her children Judy (Doug) Diamond, Tim Whitley, Billy Whitley and Dean (Melissa) Whitley all of Proctorville, Ohio; two brothers Bob Clark and Dale (Sue) Clark; three sisters Gail (Frank) Maynard, Janice (Paul) Lockard and Mary Booth; grandchildren Roland (Mindi) Diamond, Chad (Christina) Whitley, Katie Whitley, Joe (Kelly) Whitley, Nick (Bethany) Whitley, Teddy and Hannah Marcum; great grandchildren Kristen Nibert, Baylee Bower, Donovan and Jackson Whitley, Kassidy Whitley, Chase and Channing Whitley, and Emmett and Charley Jo Whitley; great great grandchildren Noah and Isaac Nibert, and Judah Bower; special friends of the family Connie Roberts, Tammy and Kathy Whitley. The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice of Huntington, WV. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the funeral home.
