Elva Jean Clay Canterberry's Obituary
Elva Jean Clay Canterberry, 84, of Proctorville, Ohio, left this earth and went to claim her mansion in heaven on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She passed away at home where she was surrounded by more love in one room than there is in the whole world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Canterberry of Proctorville Ohio; her father, Ancil “Bud” Clay and her mother, Marie Clay. She is survived by two brothers, Eugene Clay and Delores Clay of Springfield Ohio and Thomas Frank Clay and Jean Clay of Proctorville Ohio; 3 sisters, Wanda Sue and Luther Sloan of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Shelby Copley and her late brother-in-law, John Copley of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Rebecca Clay Ward of Pineville, North Carolina. She is also survived by three sons, David and Tewania Canterberry of Proctorville, Ohio, Kevin and Debbie Canterberry of Proctorville, Ohio, and Brian and Cindy Canterberry of Proctorville, Ohio; one daughter, Kimberly and Michael Galloway of Proctorville, Ohio; 5 grandsons, Cory and Cody Canterberry of Proctorville, Ohio, Brandon Picklesimer and Jared Galloway of Proctorville, Ohio, and Matthew Canterberry of Proctorville, Ohio; granddaughter, Kristen Mitchell of Proctorville, Ohio; 6 great grandchildren who loved her very much, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was truly a beacon of light for our family who always put God and family first and she will be truly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is not gone forever; she has simply joined her family in heaven waiting for the day we can join her. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Tom Jones, officiating. Entombment will be held at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH. Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
