Emerson Gail Adkins' Obituary
Emerson Gail Adkins, 85, of Proctorville, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Arbors Nursing Home in Gallipolis, OH, after a long battle with dementia. He was formerly from Barboursville, WV, and Proctorville, OH. He was born on November 16, 1939, in Sweetland, WV, to Harry and Clema Adkins of Hamlin, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Adkins. Gail is survived by his wife, Ida Conner Adkins. Also surviving are sons, Sean (Sonja) Adkins of Hopewell, VA, and Eugene (Janet) Patterson of Jackson, MI; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Pamela Adkins Ramey and Evagean Adkins; brother, Shirley (Opal) Adkins, and stepchildren, Larry (Beverly) Conner and Linda Warner. He was retired from ACF American Car and Marshall University of Huntington, WV. He formerly attended Altizer Freewill Baptist Church of Huntington, WV, and The Bride of Christ Church of Chesapeake, OH. Funeral Service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2025, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, with Fred Ramey officiating the service. Burial will follow the service in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, OH. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and Friends will be serving as pallbearers.
