Emily Jane Stephens' Obituary
Emily Jane Stephens, 64, of Proctorville, OH passed away Wednesday June 3, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center Huntington, WV. She was born February 3, 1962, to the late Robert and Patricia Griffis. Emily is survived by her husband of 31 years Tim Stephens; six children: Jason(Sarah) Stephens, Paul(Sheila) Stephens, Michael Stephens(Kaytee Grubb), Nina(Drew) Rottgen, Cassie(James) Saylor, Sarah(Scott) Rickman; two sisters Melanie Griffis and Teresa(Mike) Giles; 14 grandchildren: MaKenzi, Ashley, Juliana, Christian, Jaedon, Brooke, Brenton, Jordyn, Kaylee, Mackenzie, Paxtyn, Daniel, Colton, and Charlie. Emily retired as a National Board-Certified Teacher. She was a teacher in the Cabell County school system for 42 years. She was a volunteer at the Cabell Wayne County Animal Shelter. She was a woman of faith, and she sang in the choir at Steele Memorial Church. Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday June 6, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, OH with Pastor Greg Markins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cabell Wayne Animal Shelter.
