Evelene "Sis" Christian 1933 - 2017
Evelene Marie Morris Courts "Sis" Christian, 83, of Chesapeake, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born April 23, 1933 in Cabell County, WV daughter of the late Joseph Morris and Hazel Reynolds Morris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert L. Christian; and two brothers Jimmy Morris and Bobby Morris. She is survived by her children Brenda Courts Cooper (Mike), Tricia Courts (Debra Skeens), Debbie Courts Newman (John), Bruce Christian (Ellen) and Dreama Courts Cremeans (Charles); seven grandchildren Michelle Cooper, Johnathan (Shawna) Newman, Deaven (Marvin) Payton, Hannah Cremeans, Christina (JR) Blankenship, Justin (Megan) Cremeans and Brittany (Randall) Connolly; and 13 great grandchildren Curtis Webb, Turner Davidson, Christian Payton, Jayce Newman, Jax Newman, Cody Blankenship, Dallas Payton, Destiny Blankenship, Shelby Blankenship, Tatum Cremeans, Jolene Cremeans, Hayden Connolly and Addison Connolly. She was baptized at Zoar Baptist Church in Milton, WV and was a member of Bride of Christ Church, Chesapeake, Ohio. She dedicated her life spreading the gospel thru music. She was a southern gospel singer with the Chordettes, Interperters and The Waymarks. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Mitch Webb. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
