Fern Rigney's Obituary
Fern Marie Rigney, 75, of South Point, OH, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Born on November 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Dorothy Sites Carrico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ernie Lovell. Fern is survived by her children, Shawn (Keisha) Randolph, Nicole Mullins, and Brandae (Robert) Napier; siblings, Beverly Harless, Paul Carrico, and Dallas Carrico; grandchildren, Kara (Jamie Painter) Mullins, Cassandra (Brett Black) Campbell, Bryce Randolph, Drake Campbell, Chelcie Randolph, and Jett Randolph; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Black and one great-grandson on the way, Sage Black; and bonus grandchildren Amanda Napier-Todd and Taylor Burden. Fern was a graduate of Chesapeake High School. She worked at the Radisson Hotel in Huntington for 17 years. Fern was a “spitfire”, as described, lovingly, by her family. She enjoyed working puzzles for hours, watching British TV, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. She hosted Christmas Eve each year, which was her favorite time to spend with family. She was known by her family and friends for being a great cook, mainly for her famous potato salad! Fern will be greatly missed by all who loved her. No services will be held, per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Emogene Dolin Hospice House in Huntington. The family would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to Hospice of Huntington and Emogene Dolin Hospice House for the wonderful care that they provided to Fern over the last year.
