Frederick Edward Lester's Obituary
Frederick Edward Lester, 76, of Crown City, Ohio, left us for heaven on August 1, 2023. Fred leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Linda (daughter of the late William and Edna Maynard Faulkner); two children: Natalie (William Wallace) and William (Amy) Lester; two grandchildren: Joey (Emily) Lester, and Emma Lester; and three step-grandchildren Max Wallace, Emily (Jared) Holley, and Sam Wallace
Fred was born on November 3, 1946 and raised in Chesapeake, Ohio. He graduated from Chesapeake, High School in 1964. He was the last surviving and youngest child of the late Reverend Abner H. Lester and Corba Morgan Lester. Fred had ten half-siblings and ten siblings: Edith Ansell, Wilma Kingery, Abner Lester, Jr., Betty Shockley, Lisa Denney, Anita Barnett, Tom Lester, Dave Lester, Sue Thornton and Dan Lester. Fred is also survived by one brother-in-law; Joe Barnett, and three sisters-in-law: Connie Lester, Judy Lester and June Lester.
Fred was a retired building contractor. His many homes help fill the landscape across Lawrence County, Ohio. After retiring, Fred could usually be found in his workshop, listening to Rush Limbaugh or an oldies station on the radio, or sitting in his porch swing reading a spy novel. He loved traveling, especially flying to Hawaii, where he and Linda were fortunate to make several trips throughout the years. The last time was to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2015.
Fred had struggled with heart disease for nearly 30 years, and his heart finally gave out. His passing will leave an enormous hole in the hearts of his loved ones he leaves behind. But we are comforted knowing that he will be there along with the Lord Jesus to greet us one day in heaven. A private family graveside service was conducted by Pastor Joe Pemberton at Rome - Proctorville Cemetery with the assistance of Hall Funeral Home & Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Condolences may be expressed at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23:6 KJV)
