Gallie Watts' Obituary
As we journey this life, we see many changes. Gallie's trip in life started as the seventh son of George and Virginia Robertson Watts on March 20, 1946. At the age of 19 he felt from God the call to preach his word, a job that he took very seriously for 56 years. He traveled preaching and singing as an evangelist. During the winter he resided in Florida doing revivals and camp meetings. He retired from CSX. His retirement from traveling stopped to soon as he was stricken with dementia. This journey was long and hard for he enjoyed life, work, building houses and talking to anyone who would listen. This life was quieter as he walked our neighborhood, set on the porch, and checked the mail.No one could have asked for a better support group than he had, from those who loved him and would call, stop by, or bring tomatoes to him. Oh, he had the best neighbors, who would bring food, or help pick him up when he fell, or maybe you set on the porch to visit him. The joy that he got from the kids who stopped by to see him or play in the yard you helped fill a gap in his life.I have fought a good and hard fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8Gallie is preceded in death by his parents George and Virginia Robertson Watts and four of his siblings.
