Garnet Lucille Sturgill 1936 - 2017
Garnet Lucille Sturgill, 80, of Chesapeake, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday March 4, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. She was born May 7, 1936 in Ferguson, WV to the late Timothy and Ruby Smith Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Sturgill; one brother Richard Nelson; and one sister Mary Ann James. She was a member of Community Chapel Church of Proctorville. She is survived by one son Robert Lee (Cindy) Sturgill of Charlotte, NC; two daughters Mary Louise (Mark) Gilliam of Huntington, WV and Karen Lynn (Brent) Hagan of Chesapeake, Ohio; one brother Paul Edward Nelson of Huntington, WV; three sisters Bonnie Sue Rummel of Colorado, Hazel Mae Kremer of Colorado, and Betty Higgins of Cincinnati, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special lifelong friend Judy Sarver. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday March 9, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Carl Black and Pastor Jason Adams. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
