Gary Lee Leffingwell's Obituary
Gary Lee Leffingwell, 76, of Proctorville, left for his heavenly home on May 31st, 2020. Gary was born on May 1st, 1944, in Huntington, WV. He grew up in Athalia, Ohio, where he learned to enjoy his life’s passions, hunting and fishing. Gary had an adventurous nature, that led him to Chicago, Illinois at the age of 18. There, he met and married the love of his life, Wanda. They were married for 55 years. Together, they raised a family of four children, Pam (Darrell) Legg; Jerry (April) Leffingwell; Angela Leffingwell; and Alan (Andrea) Leffingwell. The family’s travels led them to Seattle, Washington, and to Herrin, Illinois, before coming back to his home in Athalia. Gary leaves behind his loving wife, his four children and spouses, his beloved grandchildren, Jessica (Rob) Sias; Joshua (Olivia) Legg; Alyssa (Dan) Leffingwell; Haven Leffingwell; Hunter Leffingwell; Kirsten Leffingwell; and Kera Walaszczyk. He also had three great-granddaughters that he adored, Caroline, Ava Kate, and Harper Sias. He had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gary had a special friend, Brother Meredith Turley. Gary was a mechanic by trade, and loved to play the guitar and sing. He was also known to make up humorous songs on the fly. Gary was kind, friendly, and funny. He will be missed by those whose lives he was a part of. Private graveside services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
