Gary David Scarberry's Obituary
Gary David Scarberry, 83, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born September 13, 1940, in Huntington, WV a son of the late Roy and Mary Olive Messinger Scarberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Scarberry. He was a member of Apostolic Life Cathedral Church where he was an usher and at one time served as an elder. Gary was a 1958 Huntington East High School graduate and he retired from Special Metals. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Amos Scarberry; two daughters, Connie (Kevin) Thompson and Beverly (Jon) Koerber; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Janet) Scarberry and Tim Smith; two sisters, Dixie Bostic and Tina Sbarana; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 6 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Apostolic Life Cathedral, Huntington, WV with Bishop E. S. Harper, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the church. Private family burial will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
