Gena Lynn Lewis born December 4, 1963, 60, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away April 17, 2024, surrounded by her family by her side.She was born in Huntington, WV to late Blaine Ross and late Phyllis Ross.Gena was preceded in death by her brother, Brain Ross and her daughter, Brandi Ferguson.She is survived by her husband Bruce Lewis of Chesapeake, OH. Son, Delbert Ferguson (Gena) of Morristown, Tennessee. Stepdaughter, Tammy Webber of Proctorville, OH.Brother, Wayne Ross (Teresa) of Chesapeake, OH and Delbert Ross (Missy) of Huntington, West Virginia. Uncles Steve Maynard (Susan) of Illinois and David Maynard of Ohio. Granddaughters Alayna Ferguson, Adrienne Ferguson, Skylar Ferguson, and Dakoda Crank. Grandson Colton Jones, Jayden Ferguson, Delbert Ferguson Jr. Nieces Shawna Fonseca (Wendell) of Virginia Beach, VA, Amanda Ross of Proctorville, OH, Sarah Courts of Kenova, WV. Nephews Wayne Ross (Anne) of Chesapeake, OH, Bryan Ross (Stephanie) of Huntington, WV, Aaron Ross (Heather) of Huntington, WV, Kenny Ross of Huntington, WV. Great nieces, Suvhanna Conrad, Tember Willis, Kaitlyn Ross, Shawnese Payton, Kylie Ross, Tamori Payton, Paisley and Harper Ross, Great nephews Aaron Ross.Gena has an extensive amount of great great nieces and nephews. She also has special friends who are considered family members, Zach Roller and Madison Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 12PM to 1PM at the funeral home. Burial proceeding after at Chesapeake Memorial Garden Cemetery, Chesapeake, OH.
Gena was a caring gentle person who was a caregiver by trade. She made connections with her patients who loved her that stayed friends with afterwards. She loved her family immensely. She and her husband adopted their granddaughters and helped raise them. She was witty and always joking around with everyone making everyone smile, laugh and feel comfortable around her. Everywhere she went people loved her. Gena loved to crochet in her spare time and having her dog by her side. She had a special relationship with all those who knew her making her even more special.
