George M. Doone Dotson, 80, of Wayne, WV passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home. He was born June 1, 1945, in Frog Town, WV son of the late George S. and Rose E. Gilliam Dotson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife who he adored, Shirley A. Hughes Dotson. George is survived by one son, Doone Brian Dotson (Kimberly M.) of Wildwood, FL; two daughters, Kimberly A. Dotson of Wayne, WV., and Merri K. Carter (Ronald G.) of Leesburg, FL; three siblings, Brenda Kay Dotson, Jerry R. Dotson (Maxine) and Debra L. Wallace (David); and several nieces and nephews. George was of Baptist Faith. He was a Vietnam Air Force Veteran and retired from Lowe’s. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with burial to follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2026, also at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio.
