Sadly, just learned of Dr. Ratcliff's passing. He was my childhood pediatrician and went with me all the way to Buffalo Children's Hospital when I had cancer as a child. His caring and dedication were unparalleled!

I saw into him in Downtown Huntington when I was in my mid-40's. I approached him to thank him for his care and impact on my life. When I told him, "You went to the hospital in Buffalo with me when I had cancer", a smile washed over his face and he instantly said my name. THAT was the kind of amazing "guy" Dr. Ratcliff was!

Dr Gil Ratcliff was our children's doctor as they grew up. He was so kind, compassionate and intelligent. He always remembered me whenever I saw him in the hospital as I worked as a RN. I am so Thankful for his care and will always remember him. Love and prayers for all his family and friends.

It was an honor to work with him in the NICU and in outreach. I always respected his opinion about the babies. He was an amazingly smart man and included all the players in our multidisciplinary team. He was a true friend and always happy to see you. He will be terribly missed by us all. RIP, Gil. Amazing physician and person. Grew up being seen by dr ratcliff. . Fast forward 25 years , he became a patient of mine I shared a story telling him that his hairy arms used to freak me out as a child; enough that I'd give my parents grief when it was check up time. We
both had a good laugh over it. Rip "guy" . You'll be missed by many.

I'm so sorry to hear of Gil's passing. He had a profound impact on my career and by extension my life. I always admired his unique combination of medical understanding, clinical skill and compassion for every patient, colleague and hospital employee. I have witnessed his quiet acts of kindness, both large and small many, many times; all told, too numerous to count. I am both lucky and fortunate to have spent my formative professional years with Gil as a mentor, colleague and friend. He was authentic, kind and positive by example. His impacts on our community and the medical profession will far outlive his time on this Earth. May the knowledge of his time so well spent with others together with the grace of God comfort his family now and in the challenging times ahead.
