Glen Ramey's Obituary
Glen Ramey, 90, of Athalia, Ohio, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was born January 3, 1928 in Hubbell, WV. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother Henry and Florence Ramey; mother Rosa Ramey; seven brothers and four sisters. He was a member of Forrest Glen Independent Methodist Church, Miller, Ohio for 60 years. Glen retired from Ashland Oil. He was World War II United States Navy Veteran and a member of Proctorville V.F.W. Post # 6878. On July 24, 1953, he married the love of his life and best friend, Arlie Mae Nichols Ramey. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by one son Roger (Rachel) Ramey of Huntington, WV; one daughter Terry Chapman of Proctorville, Ohio; two grandsons Ryan Ramey and his mother Robin, and Jason Chapman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a great neighbor to many and friend to all who knew him. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jerry Galloway and Pastor Meredith Turley. Entombment will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV or Forrest Glen Independent Methodist Church 20 Township Road 1284 Crown City, Ohio 45623.
