Glenn McArthur Ellis' Obituary
Glenn McArthur Ellis, 84, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away on June 30, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born on March 14, 1942, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Mina and Darwin Ellis. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Glenna Karen Ellis. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Karen Ellis, whom he married in 1966, children Rebecca (Bryan) Gilpin and Jason (Teresa) Ellis, grandchildren Megan (Kyle) Heffner, Madison Gilpin, Kevin Ellis, Brayden Gilpin, Sarah Ellis, and Andrew Ellis, great-grandchildren Ensley and Nolan Heffner, brother Larry “Butch” Ellis, and nephew and nieces LD Ellis, Kelly Ellis, Katie Moses and their children. Glenn graduated from Windsor High School, Willow Wood, Ohio, in 1960. He then joined the US Army in 1960 and served until 1963, in Germany, in the Company D 168 Engineer Battalion Combat Army as a medic and engineer. He worked and retired from Armco/AK Steel from the masonry department in 1998. He was a mason in the Proctorville Lodge 550 F&M. He enjoyed family, farming, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a member of the Getaway Community Church and managed the Getaway Cemetery. Funeral service will be held on Sunday July 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM with Masonic Rites at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour before from 1:00-2:00 PM. Burial will follow to Getaway Cemetery in Chesapeake, Ohio. In lieu flowers please make donations to the Getaway Community Cemetery Fund in care of 1564 County Road 36 Chesapeake, Ohio 45619.
