Gloria May Stapleton, 70, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV Gloria was born February 2, 1946 in Huntington, WV, daughter of the late Henry and Jannie Phillips Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sam Stapleton; granddaughter Carmen Alexis Stapleton; and brother Bud Thomas. She is survived by one son Lyndal (Cathy) Stapleton; six grandchildren Christopher Stapleton, Patrick Stapleton, Tena Holcomb, Carey, Terra and Dairus Stapleton; four great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister Rosemary (Frank) Atkinson; two brothers Chester (Judy) Thomas, and Richard Thomas; mother-in-law Lillian Stapleton; brother-in-law Glen (Vickie) Stapleton; sister-in-law Sharon Bryant; and several nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held with burial to follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
