Harry Adkins' Obituary
Harry Adkins, 76, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away on Friday June 24, 2022 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born on November 18, 1945 to the late Alton Jennings and Nola Miller Adkins. He was preceded in death by his daughter Beverly Ann Adkins Elkins and son in law Kevin Ray Barnett; five sisters Naomi, Glena, Karen, Viola and Virginia and one brother Herbert. Harry is survived by his wife Shirley Adkins; daughter Nancy Lynn Day; two sisters Regina Brumfield and Elsie Hager; brother in law John Yates; sister in law Nancy (Tom) Jones; five grandchildren A.J. (Emily) Day, Josie Day-Hoke, Megan Turner, Aaron Adkins, Dalton Elkins; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and fur babies Buddy and Lilly. Harry was a member of New Beginnings Worship Center and was a self employed contractor. He served in the U.S. Army 7th Battalion 13th Artillery and toured in Vietnam. A celebration of Life will be held at the Adkins/Hager Cemetery in Lincoln County, WV at a later date with Pastors Tom & Punkin Jones officiating. Military graveside rights will be conducted.
