Herman R. Bennett's Obituary
Herman R. Bennett, 84, of Bidwell, OH, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, OH. Herman resided at Arburs Nursing Home in Gallipolis, OH, and was formerly of Columbus, OH. Herman was born on November 12, 1938, in Scottown, OH, to the late Ray and Opal Roach Bennett. Herman worked at Owens Illinois Glass Company in Columbus, OH, from 1957 until he retired in 2001. Herman is survived by two daughters Joyce (Doyle) McDonald of Bidwell, OH, and Beverly (Chris) Sullivan of Patriot, OH; one son Bill Bennett of Chillicothe, OH; six grandchildren Kim (Joey White) Cox, Sommer (Cody Keeton) Mayse, Luke (Crystal Facemore) Fulks, Breanna (Michael) Wolford, Jess Bennett and Jeremy Bennett; eleven great grandchildren; one great great-grandson; four brothers Dale Roach of Arizona, Bobby (Tess) Bennett of Proctorville, OH, Jerrell (Marlene) Bennett of Proctorville, OH, and David (Cindy) Bennett of Pataskala, OH; one sister Brenda (Craig) Weber of Canal Winchester, OH; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In his younger years, Herman loved to fish, enjoyed visiting the Smoky Mountains, going to country concerts, watching Nascar, cheering on his favorite driver Matt Kenseth, and spending time with his family. Herman was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Jason Hatfield; and a brother Norman Bennett. Funeral Service will be held at 12 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
