Herman Leo Rossiter 1923 - 2017
Herman Leo Rossiter, 93, of Crown City, Ohio went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:25 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born August 29, 1923 in Lawrence County, Ohio son of the late Stanley and Lennie Boster Rossiter . He was the eldest of eight siblings. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Juanita Bowen Rossiter; three children Barbara Jean (Allen) Tilley, Vera (Grady) Johnson and Anita Rossiter; six grandchildren Dianna (Phil) Griffith, Missy (Mark) Steele, Kathrine (Jacob) Wood, Rachel, Olivia and Natalie Johnson; two great grandchildren Brandon Long and David Wood; and siblings Richard Rossiter, Beatrice Rossiter, Paul (Sue) Rossiter and Faye (Bobby) Unroe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Zelma Wedemeyer; and two brothers Emmett and Farrell Rossiter. Herman was a blessing to all who knew him. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Randy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery, Crown City, Ohio. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 4464 Gallipolis, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Grady Johnson, Mike Rossiter, Allen Tilley, Tivis Short, Rachel Johnson and Randy Short.
