Hugh Clark's Obituary
Mr. Hugh Laurence Floyd Clark, Sr., 77, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Orlando VA Hospital.
Mr. Clark was born on June 30, 1948, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of the late Hugh Lee Clark and Margaret Floyd Clark. He was a graduate of Marshall University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Following his education, he built a long and respected career as a Certified Public Accountant.
A proud Veteran, Mr. Clark served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran. His service reflected a lifelong sense of discipline, commitment, and strength. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
In his younger years, Mr. Clark was a gifted three-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball, and track. He was well known for his speed, athleticism, and competitive spirit—traits that stayed with him throughout his life.
Above all else, Hugh cherished his family. He had an enduring love for his children and grandchildren and found great joy in traveling and spending time with those closest to him. His steady presence, guidance, and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hugh Lee Clark and Margaret Floyd Clark. He’s also preceded in death by his brother, Lee William Clark.
He is survived by his four children: Monica DuPree (Shon) of Sanford, Florida; Jennifer Harris (Craig) of Orlando, Florida; Hugh L. Clark, Jr. of Deltona, Florida; and Alexander Clark (Eliza) of Vero Beach, Florida. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Clark of Charleston, West Virginia; his nephew, Austin Clark; his grandchildren, Victoria Benitez (Paul), Thomas Clark, Katherine Clark and Perseus Clark; and his great-grandson Beau Benitez.
Mr. Clark’s life was marked by service, integrity, and a deep love for family—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Private graveside services will be held on February 14, 2026, at Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, West Virginia. Hall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at https://ehallfuneralhome.com.
