Iris Basenback's Obituary
IRIS ADKINS BASENBACK, 82, of Proctorville, OH, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, June 25, 2012, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Farley officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH. Iris was born July 23, 1929, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Delbert and Gladys Gifford Adkins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and dedicated her life to the Lord. Iris is survived by her husband and best friend of 65 years, Ernest E. Basenback; her daughter, Penny Myers; her sons, Terry, Ernest L., Steve, Bruce, and Danny Basenback; two grandchildren she helped raise, Christy and Danny; 15 additional grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; her siblings, Virgil, Delbert, and Samuel Adkins, Thelma Slayton, Rosetta Barbour, and Annise Berry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM Wednesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
