Jack Robert "Bob" Perkey's Obituary
Jack Robert “Bob” Perkey, 68, of Ironton, Ohio formerly of South Point, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in UK King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY. He was born July 2, 1956, in Huntington, WV son of the late William D. and Marjorie Byrom Perkey. Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Adkins Perkey; two daughters, Tonya Perkey of South Point, Ohio and Georgianna Perkey of Coal Grove, Ohio; four grandsons, Bailey “Boo” Ackerson, Ryan “Ry” (Alyssa Lemaster), Noah “Noie” and Nick “Joe Bug” Lemaster; bonus grandson, JD Martin; one granddaughter, Emily “Lou” Ackerson; and one bonus granddaughter Emma Ackerson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Perkey and William “Brownie” Perkey; eight sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law, and a son-in-law. Bob loved to go to church, sing, hunt, fish, and laugh, and make everyone laugh around him. He was a great husband, dad and grandfather and he will be deeply missed. Also surviving are three special nieces, who he loved like daughters, Felicia Comer, Stephanie Kawalski, and Crystal Perkey; one great grandson, Connor Reid Lemaster; five brothers, Mike, Terry, Gary, Ricky, and Jeff; and one sister, Sandy Handshaw. He retired from Airborne Express. He attended Community Tabernacle Church of Coal Grove, Ohio. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Schneider Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Ohio with Pastor Mark Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Perkey Family Cemetery, Ironton, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Schneider Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Ohio.
