Jackie "Jack" Ronald Burcham's Obituary
Jackie R. "Jack" Burcham, 83, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family with his wife holding his hand. He was a Lawrence County, Ohio, native born in Proctorville, Ohio, on December 10, 1940, to the late Paul Lee and Louise Murdock Burcham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Leon Burcham and Raymond Leroy Burcham, and his fur buddy, Lucky. Jackie is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Ann Moore Burcham, whom he married on June 7, 1968, and they would have celebrated 56 years together in June. He retired from ACF in June 2001 with 34 years, 9 months, and 23 days of service. He missed only 7 days in that time as a burner/assembler. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Denise Lynn (Eric) Barry of Norman, Oklahoma, Ronald Lee "Barney" (Gina) Burcham, and Michael Todd Burcham of Chesapeake, Ohio; three grandsons, Brett Barry (Katelyn) of Oklahoma City, Ethan Hunter Barry of Norman, Oklahoma, and Luke Elliott Burcham of Chesapeake, Ohio; granddaughter, Chassee Alexis Burcham of Kitts Hill, Ohio; great-granddaughter, Cara Bella Burcham, also of Kitts Hill, Ohio; brother, David "Butch" (Ramona) Burcham of Huntington, WV; a very special friend, Debbie Dutton of Huntington, WV; special cousin, Norma "Sis" Roberts of Ironton, Ohio; Scott Adkins, who was like a son that he worked with; two sisters-in-law, Edna Moore and Patricia Moore, and his ACF family of friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jackie was a member of Burlington Baptist Church of Burlington, Ohio, and attended Truth Independent Baptist Church of Lavalette, WV, where his church family loved him, and he loved his church family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday February 9, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, with Pastor Lou Ashworth, officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 8, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio.Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, Ohio. The family would like to give a big thank you to the nurses and doctors at St. Mary's Hospital for their excellent care given to Jackie. A special thank you to Randy, his nurse on Monday.
