James "Jay" Oren Davis' Obituary
James "Jay" Davis, 90, of Russell, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ashland, KY. He was born on August 5, 1931, in Chesapeake, OH, to the late Charles and Alena Carpenter Davis. He was also preceded in death by one son David B. Toler; four brothers Charles Edward David, Coleman Davis, Gary Davis, and Billy Davis; and one sister Mary Plybon. He was retired from Allied Chemical/ AK Steel. He was a Korean Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife Shirley Parsons Davis; one daughter Jayne Woods of Charleston, WV; two grandchildren David B. Toler Jr. of Hopkins, SC, and Will Stevens of Catlettsburg, KY; four great grandchildren Logan, Caelyn, Keeley, and Presley; two sisters Helen Edwards of Proctorville, OH and Sharon Simpkins of Prichard, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, KY, with Pastor Ed Cook officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 to 12 at the cemetery.
