James "Jim" House's Obituary
James Willard House, 69, of Huntington, West Virginia, received his call to his heavenly home and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2026, joining loved ones who had gone before him. Born October 1, 1956, in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of the late Willard Austin House and Mary L. (Grimm) House. James devoted more than 30 years of his career working for CSX Railroad, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. In the latter part of his career, he served as a supervisor for 18 years at the Huntington Locomotive Shop and Russell Locomotive Shop, earning the respect of those he worked alongside. He took great pride in his work and approached his responsibilities with seriousness and integrity. A man of deep faith, James was active in the Lord’s work at First Baptist Church of Proctorville, Ohio, where he was grateful for the leadership and friendship of Pastor Jeff Black. His faith was an important part of his life, and he valued the fellowship and community he found there. James is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Kay (Lisanti) House; his son, Gregory Austin House, and Gregory’s wife, Shauntay Elizabeth House; his cherished grandchildren, Ezra House, James House, and Eden Jane House; and his sister, Linda D. (House) Nester and her husband, the Rev. Donald A. Nester, of Royston, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him into his heavenly home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Jeff Black, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at 1:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Cumberland, MD.
