James Michael "Jim" Lewis' Obituary
James Michael "Jim" Lewis 1956 - 2017
Our beloved, James Michael Lewis, 60, known to most as "Jim," departed St. Marys Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 23, to point the bike he loved into the wind on his final everlasting ride. Jim was born December 4, 1956, in Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Lewis. He retired from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 521 and was a member of the Proctorville Lodge #550 of Free & Accepted Masons. He is survived by his wife, Garretta Nottingham Lewis; mother, Patricia Poynter Lewis of Chesapeake, Ohio; son, Chris Lewis and his wife Linzi of South Point, Ohio; grandson, James Westley Lewis of South Point; and several brothers and sisters. Jim dearly loved spending time with his family, long rides on his Harley, the many friends he made while working at his craft, fishing the New River, and the fur-baby he named "Harley." He was especially proud of his son, Chris, who followed in his footsteps, and the fine young man his grandson, Westley, is becoming. He will be always remembered as someone who could not only build anything, but do it with such perfect precision and skill. A celebration of Jims life will be held at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio, on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be an hour before the service with a Masonic service to be held at 1:45 p.m. A private burial will take place at Lewis Family Cemetery, Chesapeake, Ohio. The family wishes to thank the ladies of St. Marys Infusion Center, who gave Jim friendship and joy, and Dr. Gerrit Kimmey. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall or ehallfuneralhome.com. SERVICES Visitation Saturday, December 02, 2017
