James E. Myers' Obituary
James Edward Myers, 68, the husband of Patty Mullins Myers, departed this life and went to sleep in his Savior's arms on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the SOMC Hospice Facility in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born on January 12, 1956, he was the son of the late Frederick Jackson Myers and Bertha Esther Bertalan Myers in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was educated in Monongalia County and graduated from Morgantown High. He worked as an underground coal miner, Fed Ex delivery person, and was the top salesman for Expro/Groome Industrial Services for 26 years. James was a Christian and a wonderful husband, father, provider, protector, and loving son. He loved the Lord and was a true witness to everyone everywhere he went. He served as a people's coach, a Sunday School Superintendent, MC, and teacher. He was never selfish, always giving, and shared Jesus and his Holy Ghost experience with everyone he met. At M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, he used his sick bed as a pulpit and his room as a chapel of prayer. James was known throughout the hospital. He wanted us to give a special mention of the many people who loved him and gave him such great care over the last 6 years, especially to Cruz, his Cuban taxi driver who helped in every way possible and emotionally and became a part of the family. He repeatedly expressed his appreciation for his employers, owners, and bosses, Jeff Bause, Brad McGinnis, Rod Hall, Ken Eddy, and Wayne Malan. In addition to his wife, Patty, these loved ones hold him in loving memory: two daughters, Lauren Mykell (Cameron) Myers Fraley and Moriah Noel Myers; stepsons, Alexander K. (Angela Jeanne Davies) Smith and Zachary E. (Whitney Potter) Smith; 10 grandchildren, Laila Myers, Kyen Johnson, Kurt Fraley, Saige Fraley; step-grandchildren, C.J. Fraley, Issac Nixon, Natalie Twinam, Harper Twinam, Evan Smith, Remy Smith; many nieces and nephews; brothers, Frederick (Renee Ann Godlewski) Myers and Gary Allen (Shonda King) Myers, and one sister, Kathy Lynn Williams Primer.
