James J. Norris 1927 - 2016
James J. Norris, 89, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born on May 8, 1927 in Moundsville, WV son of the late Harley and Pearl Norris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Jack L. Norris and Ronald H. Norris. James served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for Fostoria Glass Company and retired from Allied and Olin Chemical Companies. James was a member of New Hope Methodist Church, Proctorville, Ohio, American Legion Post #3 and Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878. He leaves behind a loving wife of 68 years Patricia A. Norris; two daughters Vickie Lynn Norris (Dennis) James of South Point and Connie Jo Norris (Larry) Bjornson of Huntington, WV; a sister Phyllis (Semon) Prado of Moundsville, WV; a sister-in-law Wilda Ripley of Wheeling, WV; four grandchildren Dr. Shannon N. James of Indianapolis, IN, Crista M. Bjornson of Pleasanton, CA, Brock C. James of South Point and Erik B. (Kelsea) Bjornson of Raleigh, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Dwayne Shugert officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV or New Hope Methodist Church, Proctorville, Ohio.
