JAMES F. PRUITT, 78, of Chesapeake, OH, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be noon Friday, July 19, 2013, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Getaway Cemetery. James was born July 20, 1934, in Chesapeake, OH, a son of the late William and Ora Wyatt Pruitt. He retired from the Chesapeake School System. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Powers Pruitt; one daughter, Deborah Pruitt; one sister, Ethel Corder; and one brother, Kenneth Pruitt. James is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Benny Thompson, and Connie and Danny Caudill; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two siblings, Betty Booth and Don Pruitt; and his special companion, Dorothy Elkins.
