James Franklin Rickard's Obituary
JAMES FRANKLIN RICKARD, 83, of South Point, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his residence. Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, May 16, 2016, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. James was born March 9, 1933, in Point Pleasant, WV, the youngest son of Thomas and Dorothy Ruth Ross Rickard. He was a retired pipefitter with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #577 and a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Butcher Rickard; his oldest son, Benjamin Rickard; three brothers, Richard, Robert, and John Rickard; and one sister, Dorothy Inghram. James is survived by four children, Deby (Hank) Craft, Zane Rickard, Jay (Marilyn) Rickard, and Tex Rickard; his daughter-in-law, Jane Rickard; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Rickard. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 3 to 5 PM Sunday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH.
