James Wilson Simpkins, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Born on January 13, 1945, in Chapmanville, WV, he was the son of the late Wilson and Amanda “Zella” Workman Simpkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Simpkins; son, Keith Simpkins; sister, Dottie Beckelheimer, and the mother of his children, Joyce Simpkins. James retired from Heiner’s Bakery after 30 years and later worked for Beckley Community Action. He enjoyed golf, guns, and beer. James is survived by his children, Kevin (Kathy) Simpkins and Tracey Simpkins; grandchildren, Bradley (Maegan) Simpkins, Nathan Simpkins, Jaden Mounts, and Kaden McCoy; great-grandchildren, Tucker Simpkins and Sophie Simpkins; sister, Sandy (David) Scott, and special friends, Theo Greer, Viola Adams, Michael Graham, and Doug Skaggs and family.
