James Bryan Witt's Obituary
James B. Witt, 90, of Charleston, WV, passed from this life on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born on July 22, 1933, in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Bryan J. and Inez B. (Carter) Witt. James was preceded in death by his wife Virginia M. (Crist) Witt; his first wife Annabelle (Gritt) Witt Johnson; five brothers Clifford Witt, Jerry Menninger, Virgil Menninger, Carl Whitlock, and Gene Whitlock; two sisters Velva Craigo and Delores Cummings. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving children Doyal Witt, James (Jimmy) C. Witt, Melinda K (Witt) Mitchell, and Pamela J. (Witt) Hose; one brother Joe Menninger; two sisters Delores Thomas and Barbara Whitlock; eight grandchildren Michael Witt, Billy Kelly, Timothy Kelly, Jonathan Hose, Joseph Hose, Blake Witt, Sheana Witt, and Abigail Witt; eight great grandchildren; as well as a host of family and friends. James served his country in the branch of the Marines during the Korean War. James was a long-haul retired truck driver. His life passion was driving across the country. He retired from both Owens Illinois, Overnight and UPS. He loved to go to church when he home and able. He loved taking long road trips vacationing with his family. James will be missed by everyone because of his "kindness and laughter" that brought a smile upon their faces. Funeral Service will be held at 12 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Apostolic Life Cathedral, with Bishop E.S. Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements.
