James “Boogie” Woodward, 27, of South Point, Ohio passed away on Tuesday June 17, 2025. He was born November 23, 1997 in Detroit, Michigan. James was a true gift and blessing from God. He was a warrior in his lifelong fight against epilepsy. Despite his struggles, he was full of love, laughter, and joy. He was a loving son, grandson, nephew, brother, and uncle. Heaven gained a beautiful soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. James was preceded in death by his great grandparents Willie Meade an Elta Eckman; grandfathers Charles Gillispie and Frank McCormick; great aunts and uncles Jim and Carolyn Sparks, Vanessa Luce, Buzzy Meade, Johnny Meade. He is survived by his parents Claude and Pamela Marcum of South Point, Ohio; grandmother Hester McCormick; three uncles Luke (Barbara) Meade, Lee (Amy) Marcum, and James (Amy) Mayhone; four aunts Doralee (Charles) Baker, Jamie Mayhone, Crystal (Larry) G. Williams, and Trish (Nate) Srofe; three brothers Kenton (Makayla) Wallace, Owen (Ashley) Woodward, and Logan Marcum; three sisters Chasity (Jordan) Perkey, Alexix (Trent) Moore, and baby sister Braylee Haney. He was blessed to be an uncle to one nephew Roman Wallace and three nieces Serenity Perkey, Raelynn Moore, and Rue Wallace. Private family services will be held.
