Janice K. Hatcher Simpson's Obituary
Janice K. Hatcher Simpson, 64, of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. "Special J" was born August 7, 1954 in Logan, WV daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Odell Griffin Hatcher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandmother Ola Mae Griffin; Grandfather; James Curley Griffin; Brother; James Griffin, Sisters; Andrea Ibezim, Lanita Hatcher, Rosalind Stubblefield, Josephine Hatcher, and Levonia Anderson (Frank). As well as her husband Printis "Wayne" Simpson. She was a woman of great faith; a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an uplifting spirit for her family and friends and could always make you smile and laugh, no matter how you felt. She loved to crochet, traveling, listening to music, dancing all the time, and attending family gatherings. She was the founder of the dance the "Stanky Leg." She went to Barnett Elementary, Oley & Lincoln Jr. and Huntington High School. She attended Huntington Jr. College and Marshall University studying Accounting. She worked at Burger King, the State Hospital, and the Nickel Plant. She was extremely smart and could remember any and everything about her family and friends; especially birthdays. She is survived by her daughter Karmaletha Hatcher of Huntington, WV, and son Frederico Hatcher of Charleston, WV; one granddaughter Kaprisia Hatcher; one great grandson NyKhale Botts, siblings; Catherine (Joseph) Allen, Thomas Shaw Jr, Leola Johnson, Nathaniel Hatcher, and Wesley (Markessa) Hall; special Godson, Jeffery "PuffnStuff" Howard Jr. of Huntington, WV; special great nephew, MalaKhi "Butta Man" Price; special nieces, Krista & Rita Brown; and Shelah Branch; special friends; Carolyn Rawlings Euwing, Linda K. Phillips, Vivian Garrett, and Rosie & Kay Turner; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation Glorious Church
