Janice Thomas' Obituary
Janice Thomas, 83, of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 23, 2023, at home. She was born May 12, 1940, in Harts Creek, WV to the late Raymond and Rose Workman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Thomas; grandsons Andrew Thomas and Michael Locascio; one brother Timothy Raymond Workman; one sister Merlene Layfield; and daughter-in-law Helen Thomas. She is survived by two sons Walter Thomas Jr. of Crown City, Ohio and Lial Thomas of Proctorville, Ohio; one daughter Veronica Rose Locascio; grandchildren Summer Rose Locascio, Tabitha Danielle Locascio, Lindsey Brooke Thomas, Justin Kory Thomas, Meagan Renee (Zac) Whitt, and Hannah (Ervin) White; great grandchildren Zane, Kennedy, Dawson, and Tyler; three sisters Nellie Joyce (Waldo) Booth of Prichard, WV, Barbara Gay (Ray) Ferrell of Harts, WV, and Ramona Lois (Bill) Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews. Janice was a member of First Baptist Church of Proctorville and a rural carrier with the US Postal Service in Chesapeake, Ohio from 1989 to 2009. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday October 28, 2023, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday October 27, 2023, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
