Jay Stapleton, 51, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Born on February 19, 1972, in Huntington, WV, he was the son of Mattie Pine and the late Johnie A. Stapleton. Jay was an HVAC Service Technician teacher. He is survived by his mother, Mattie Stapleton; brothers, Danny (Barbara) Stapleton and Dave (Paula) Stapleton; sister, Peggy (Alan) Boggs; nieces and nephews, Kristy Wiley, Michelle Warden, Jason Boggs, Jill Stapleton, Shannon Stapleton, Andy Stapleton, and Michael Stapleton; several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and best friend, Dan Thacker. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Getaway Cemetery in Chesapeake, Ohio, with Pastor Harold Hamlin, officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 A.M. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com
