Jeannine Schneider Classing's Obituary
Jeannine Schneider Classing, slipped from our hands into the arms of Jesus on January 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Sophia Schneider. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put her family first.
She began her teaching career in 1963 in the Chesapeake School System. She taught typing and bookkeeping, but her favorite role was music teacher at Chesapeake Elementary. Jeannine was a proud 1960 graduate of Chesapeake High School and Marshall University, earning her Masters Degree in 1966.
She was an accomplished pianist and organist who shared her talent at a number of local churches including Chesapeake Methodist, Highlawn Baptist, Union Missionary Baptist, First Baptist Kenova and First Baptist Proctorville.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Classing; daughter, Joy Runyon (Vince); son, Jayson Matthews (Irene); five grandchildren, Zack Runyon (Kelly), Seth Runyon, Sophie Weeden (Ty), Jordan Grimm (Quinton) and Jayson Matthews, Jr; nine great grandchildren, Colt, Ava, Adrianna, Woods, Kaia, Ryder, Riggs, Elias and Delilah, due in June; sister, Sally Hambric (Roy); niece, Julie and nephew, Stephen. Her children by marriage include David (Anna), Alexander, Steven and Michael (Erica).
Services will be held on Saturday, January, 25, 2025 at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 pm. Pastors Jeff Black and Garrett Wheeler will officiate and the burial will follow at Rome Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family at schneiderhallfuneralhome.com
