Jefferee Geneva Jones' Obituary
Ms. Jefferee Geneva Jones was born in Lakeland, FL on September 3, 1964 to the late Sims and Geneva Jones. She was preceded in death by Geneva Jones (Mother), Sims Jones (Father), Jennifer Jones (Sister), Larry Jones (Nephew), and Carlos (Mimi) Garvin (Niece). She attended Okeechobee High School and became a track athlete, graduating in 1982. Jefferee relocated to Huntington, WV in 2016 where she spent her recent remaining years with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, preparing Sunday meals, shopping and most importantly, devoting time to her grandkids. She made special efforts to show her love & support for them. She vibrantly cheered them on at sporting events, attended classroom parties, played cards/board games, watched movies and hosted famous sleepovers at what the little ones would refer to as "Nani's house". She was a dynamic woman of undeniable strength and great faith, worshipping her God through prayer and some of her favorite gospels "Going Up Yonder" and "Oh How I Love The Name Jesus". She had a smile that made her cheeks dance, a laughter both infectious and hearty, causing others around to laugh along with her. Her generous heart, distinctive sense of style, bold personality, and unapologetic way of life showed many just how bright a beautiful gemstone could shine. She was a true Black diamond, genuine, rare and unique. She is survived by four children: Curtis (Chardae) Jones Sr., Jarree Jones, Reggie Jones and Regina Jones; five brothers: Carl (Rose) Garvin Jr., Lymuel Jones, Jimmie (Misty) Jones, Jerome Jones and Eric Jones; three sisters: Jacqueline Jones, Janice Jones and Jeanette Jones; eleven grandchildren: Curtis Jr., Genesis, Aubriee, Aumylie, Ja'Nasia, Rhiniya, Rhelyn, Josiah, Josiah, La'Ryah, Terry; two aunts: Eva Alderman, Barbara Jean Alderman; one uncle: Fred Alderman (Barbara); eight nieces: Jimmeria, Mykia, Dunice, Tatyana, Regina, Carlina, Tracy, Myla; one nephew: Jarren Smith and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews.
