Jeffrey Scott Spears' Obituary
Jeffrey Scott Spears, 59, of Proctorville, OH, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2026. Born on May 3, 1967, in Akron, OH, he was the son of Ronald “Buck” Spears and the late Josephine Spencer. In addition to his father, he is survived by his spouse of 26 years, Teresa “Terri” Turley-Spears; brother, Danny Spears; sister, Loretta (Tracy) Freeman; nephews, Jacob (Mandi) Freeman, Jordan (Abby) Freeman, both of Proctorville, OH; nieces, Danielle (John) Kipp of Proctorville, OH and C.J. (Josh) Ross of Wayne; stepchildren, Travis (Selena) Smith, Tracy (Eric) Lewis, and two grandchildren who dearly loved “Poppy Jeff”, Tucker and Sydney Lewis; great-nephew, Barrett Ross and two great-nieces, Logan Ross and Raelynn Freeman. Jeff was a graduate of Fairland High School. He attended Kentucky Horseshoeing School in Lexington, KY, where he became a licensed farrier. He was a farrier for more than 30 years. He also worked for a time for Tennessee Carpenters Union, UPS, Engines INC, and other companies. Jeff’s love for animals was abound. In addition to horses, he loved all farm animals, especially his chickens he talked to daily and his goats. Always finding an animal to rescue whether it be a dog, or a baby opossum orphaned by the roadside. He was truly loved by many and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, with Pastor Charles Dennison and Gordon Simpson, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
