Jennings "JR" Nelson's Obituary
Jennings “JR” Nelson, 87, of South Point, OH, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born on October 17, 1937, in Gil, WV, he was the son of the late Wilferd and Inez Johnson Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Linda Ann Nelson; daughter, Teresia Nelson Williamson; 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. JR retired from CSX and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Nelson and Aimee (Bobby) Lawson; son, Ray Nelson; grandchildren, Ashley, Emilee, Shelby, Brody, and Levi; sisters, Ada Guinn, Iris Sias, Sharon Trout, Wylene Weather, and Andrea Smith; brothers, Haskell Nelson and Dwight Nelson, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, OH. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 12:00 P.M.
