Jerold Wayne McComas' Obituary
Jerold Wayne McComas, 79, of Crown City, OH went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on January 5, 2024, after battling several medical problems. He was born January 24, 1944, to the late Mayme Agnes Woodrum McComas and Elza E. McComas of Union Ridge in Cabell County, WV. He was also preceded in death by his older brother Gary Eugene McComas. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Brenda L. McComas of Crown City, OH. One daughter, Jennifer Adkins and his future son-in-law William Burgess, both of Crown City. Also, a granddaughter, Sarah Adkins and fiancé Corey Malone, both of Ashland, KY. and a great granddaughter, Ella Grace Adkins and also future great grandson Nolan Malone, both of Ashland, KY. Jerold attended and graduated from Milton High School. Soon after he served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War as a Private 1st Cav Infantry Division. He served from 1964-1965. After his service he worked as a mechanic. Jerold enjoyed many activities from building model cars to antique car shows. He loved fishing and being outdoors, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by many family members and friends. He was a caring Grandpa and father figure to Sarah Adkins. The family would like to say a special Thank You to the Hospice of Huntington, Reverend Traci Call, Kelly Chapman, Theresa, and his nurse Jennifer and many more. Dad's favorite quote: "If you can't say something nice about someone, then don't say anything at all." In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Hospice of Huntington, WV. There will be a Funeral Service on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Miller Memorial Gardens in Miller, OH.
